Deferred Enrollment
Deferred enrollment is designed for students who desire to attend the University of Connecticut but, for various reasons, wish to postpone their enrollment. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions offers a one year deferred enrollment to students who have applied to the University, been accepted as freshmen and have paid the $150 acceptance fee.
An approved deferral guarantees your admission for either of the subsequent two academic semesters. During the deferred period, you may not enroll in 12 or more credits at another institution.
Requests for deferral must be in writing and should be received by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions no later than:
- August 1 for the fall semester
- December 1 for the spring semester.
